Putting Tom Cruise to shame

Today's blog is not another big mommy, but a shot of the babies for those interested. This one is their faces, taken today, five/six months along. Thing 1 seems to be hiding behind his brother, but Thing 2 came out and gave us a big smile. (Or he's passing gas) The doctors have assured me that they're two healthy children, and I said that I could tell that from how much they kick. Everyone tells me that little Asian-White kids are always so beautiful. When they're playing in the World Cup, it won't really matter how attractive they are, but it certainly will help bring in the cell phone endorsements.

This is the January 10th ultrasound pictures, showing their faces and torso in profile. Wave for the camera, kids! And stop pulling your little brother's hair.

Big Mamma

Yes, it's official - I have become rolly-polly. I reached over from a chair to grab something off the floor and literally rolled down to the floor. At my 23 week check-up, the doctor said I was the size she'd expect from a 30 week one-baby pregnancy, which means I look like I'm seven and a half months pregnant! Check out the picture for the undeniable hugeness of it all. Mostly, it hasn't been a problem yet, except I bump into people in the store, if I'm not careful. But the back pain has also set in, and I had to retire my last pair of normal jeans today and resign myself to the stretchy-waist maternity pants. I'm also visibly, un-deniably pregnant and getting comments from friends, co-workers, and strangers at Macy's. So, I feel no compunction about bringing out my lumbar support pillow and bran muffin in the middle of class. There are some benefits.

Getting Started

As the exciting news is becoming more well-known, I promised you all I'd post pictures and updates online. This spring, life is about to become more interesting - times two. The ultrasound suggests that I'm going to have two little boys in the middle of May, just in time for finals! Naoki is excited, while I'm just tired.
